Fairly new metal halide bulb that was working perfectly fine a day ago suddenly won’t fire, some kind of weird loose debris is also visible inside the bulb (2nd pic). The same ballast will still ignite an HPS bulb just fine, but not this MH bulb. Any idea what happened?

Nicotiana tabacum/rusticta or some other plant? I did have a vial of Connecticut tobacco seeds that went missing, so if this is indeed a tobacco youngling I plan on getting it out the concrete and putting her in the grow tent for future harvest :)
